British Association Football.— When Chelsea finally succeeded in defeating its old rival Arsenal in the third of three Football Cup replays on Monday 108,000 people had paid £20,000 to see the three matches. On January 11 the two teams drew 1-all at Stamford Bridge, and on January 15 they again drew, 1-all, at Highbury after half an hour of extra time. Sixty thousand people attended the third match which was played on the Tottenham Hotspurts’ ground at White Hart Lane. —London, January 22.

Australian Tennis Championships.— After dropping the first two sets, G. Mulloy (U.S.A.) recovered to beat G. Brown (N.S.W.), 4-6, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4, 6-2, in the second round of the Australian singles championship to-day. Mulloy was in better physical condition than Brown for the deciding set, and forced the Australian into errors. In tfie second round of the men’s doubles F. Sedgman (Victoria) and G. Worthington (N.S.W.) beat D. Pails and G. Brown (N.S.W.), 8-6, 6-3, 4-0. Pails and Brown forfeited when Brown developed cramp in an arm following his gruelling singles match. Youth triumphed over experience in another second round doubles match in which T, Brown (U.S.A.) and W. Sidwell (N.S.W.) beat J. Crawford (N.S.W.) and H. Hopman (Victoria). 6-1. 4-6, 4-6, 7-5, 6-3.—Sydney, Jan. 22.
