SABOTAGE IN TRINIDAD
STATE OF EMERGENCY PROCLAIMED POLICE AND STRIKERS CLASH (Rec. 9 p.m".) PORT OF SPAIN, Jan. 21. Following a new outbreak of sabotage on Trinidad’s oilfields and a clash between the strikers and the police, the Governor (Sir Bede Clifford) has proclaimed a state of emergency throughout Trinidad. Fifteen police were injured tn a clash, including the Police Commissioner (Colonel Angus Muler). Seventy-five strikers were arrested. Sabotage occurred at Point Fortin where several oil tanks on the Trinidad Petroleum Development Company’s field were set on fire.
