CHINESE CIVIL WAR
COMMUNIST DEFEAT IN MANCHURIA (Rec. 10 p.m.) NANKING, January 20. A National Ministry of Defence statement reports that Counter-attack-ing Government forces, including the American-equipped new Ist Army, routed 100,000 Communist troops in Kirin Province, Manchuria.
