OUR BEAUTIFUL CITY

Sir, —As a lover of our garden city, what can beautify our town more than the lovely plots of flowers we see at intersections as we travel inttf our town by tram and bus. It does the eye good to rest on those beautiful colours as we travel home tired and weary after a busy day shopping for the family. I notice Colombo street has awakened at last. Just over Colombo street bridge are now beautiful plots of pink geraniums, a pleasing sight with the river and weeping willows for a background. I say, continue the good work.—Yours, etc., PROGRESS.
