SPRINGFIELD
Sir, —Lest you are misled. Springfield is a progressive township near Mount Torlesse., on the Midland line. It is noted for its farming and pastoral qualities. It was once a mining town and had a brick and tile works. Now it is mostly a railway township. It is an up-to-date place, with plenty of electric power available, a good water service and bus service, several churches, a fine hotel, and motor rapair works. It has a big carriers’ service connexions, a large, up-to-date sunshine school, a large 100-acre domain, town hall, tennis court®, a large pavilion, and large plantations of trees, two well-equipped stores, and two hostels just over the river Kowai.
