L. E. FOX WINS OTAGO MARATHON
“ The Press ’’ Special Service DUNEDIN. January 20. The New Zealand marathon champion. L. E. Fox. of Canterbury, won the Otago marathon championship (26 miles 385 yards) on Saturday He finished more than a quarter of an hour ahead of the only other competitor to complete the course. D W. Fincham (Leith), and his time. 2hr 45mln 58 l-ssec. was creditable. Fox took the lead from the start, and, as the race progressed, he drew away from the field in effortless style.
