SMALL QUANTITY OF MAIL
LETTERS AND PARCELS FROM AUSTRALIA (P.A.) WELLINGTON. January 20. The Wanganella carried a relatively small amount of mail, all of which was from Australia said the Post-master-General 'Mr F. Hackett) in reply to an inquiry this evening. If weather conditions permitted it was hoped to unload it from the ship tomorrow morning. The Minister said the mail carried by the Wanganella comprised 184 bags of letters and newspapers and 193 bags of parcels. It had not been possible to unload any mails to-day as all efforts had been directed towards rescue work.
