NATIVES STRIKE AT MOMBASA
EUROPEANS INJURED BY STONES (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 7 p.m.) CAPE TOWN, Jan. 13. The South African authorities drafted armed police into Mombasa when striking native labourers stoned taxis and one hotel, injuring Europeans, including a woman. The strike has paralysed the port. The labourers are asking for improved conditions and higher wages. The police used sticks to disperse the demonstrators.
