IN HIDING SINCE END OF 1945 _ LISBON, January 14 Dr. Karl Wissmann, the former German press attache at Lisbon, Vfhom the police have been seeking since he escaped from a detention ca mp in November, 1945. took poison the police went to arrest him today. He uttered “Heil Hitler” before he died. Hiding in the same house.as Wiss|dann, the police also found Adolf •Nassenstein, who was classified by the Allies as a dangerous Gestapo agent, says Reuter’s correspondent in Lisbon. JJassenstein. tried to shoot himself, but the weapon misfireq. Wissmann and Nassenstein were in “ group of wanted Germans who were to have been repatriated after the war ended but failed to appear at the airport. The other Germans who evaded the police at the same time are still free.
