NEW LINER ON FIRE.—The Shaw Savill and Albion Company’s new 15,000-ton liner Corinthic on fire at a Birkenhead shipyard on January 4. The ship developed a list to starboard, but slowly righted herself when the fire, which broke out in one of the holds, was subdued after 151 hours, The Corinthic was to have undergone her trials early next month, but she will not now be ready for sea until about the end of April. She will be used to trade between the United Kingdom and New Zealand.
