BODY OF BABY FOUND NEAR GREYMOUTH
0 From Our Own Reporter GREYMOUTH. January 14. The decomposed body of an apparently newly-born infant was found m a sugar-bag in a rubbish dump near
the foreshore at Karoro, a suburb of Greymouth, between the Greymouth Municipal Abattoir and the Karoro airport late this afternoon. The discovery was made by some children playing nearby, and the matter was immediately reported to the police. The body was recovered by Detective B. Constable and Constable J. Molloy, and removed to the morgue at the Grey Hospital. The Deputy-Coroner (Mr M. J. Fogarty), who was advised, ordered that a post-mortenj examination be made to determine if possible the cause of- death. The examination was made this evening. Meanwhile inquiries are being made by the police. It was apparent that the body had been in the rubbish dump for some time, probably more than a week or two weeks.
