GOLF
LUCIFER GOLFING SOCIETY The Lucifer Golfing Society is doubtful whether it will have sufficient entries for the resumption of its annual Empire tournament in London in July this year. The society has circularised by cablegram leading golf clubs in New Zealand, asking whether any members of clubs in their districts are likely to be in London for the event. The Christchurch Golf Club has received the cablegram, which asks it to reply by March 15. The club would be glad to hear from golfers in Canterbury who may be able to play in the Lucifer Golfing Society’s tournament, so that it maty reply giving approximate numbers. The last tournament was held shortly after the war ended. Christchurch players who took part included J. L. Blair, R. Hay-Mackenzie, C. J. Ward, and P. R. Godby.
