(P.A.) AUCKLAND, Jan. 14. Provision has been made for two divisions in the Elstow Handicap at the Te Aroha Jockey Club’s meeting on Saturday. There are 40 acceptors and the safety number is 28. If the race is divided the stake will be raised to £5OO and the allocation will be: first £175, second £5O, third £25. In the President’s Handicap, Leigh Park has 7-5, and in the Piako Handicap Contango is weighted at 9-9. FINE IMPOSED FOR WRONG NOMINATION (P.A.) AUCKLAND, January 14. An inquiry was held by the judicial committee of the Auckland Racing Club into the eligibility of Gold Watch to compete in hack races at the Auckland Racing Club's summer meeting. It was found that Gold Watch was not eligible for entry in hack races, and was accordingly disqualified for the Robinson Handicap and the Fergusson Handicap. Second prize money in the Robinson Handicap was awarded to Grand Tourist, and third money to Camp Queen The owner of Gold Watch (Mr ,E. N. Fitzgerald) was fined £5O for carelessness in nominating his horse in these races, this being a breach of Rule 179 (2) of Rules of Racing.
