THEFTS IN CITY
Gaining entry to the Atlantic Union Oil Company’s office in Matipo street by forcing open a window on Monday evening thieves searched 18 drawers and stole between 5s and 6s in small change. In ransacking the office the thieves tore up papers indiscriminately and left them strewn over the floor. Spare parts and a collection of miscellaneous articles valued at £25 were stolen when the Cashmere Garage at 25 Colombo street was entered during the week-end. Two tyres, which had just been recapped, torches, a fountain pen, and a coat were among the articles taken. Thieves stole three tyres from the yard of P. Graham • and Sons, 166 St Asaph street, during the holidays.
