WANGANELLA’S SAILINGS ANNOUNCED

(P.A.) AUCKLAND. December 17. Two sailings each month, alternating between Auckland and Wellington, are provided in the Tasman timetable for the Huddart Parker motor-liner Wanganella, which will begin the first regular post-war passenger service between Australia and New Zealand next month.

The liner will leave Sydney every second Thursday, and arrive at her New Zealand terminal the following Monday. On the subsequent Thursday she will leave either Auckland or Wellington on her return voyage and arrive at Sydney on Monday. The timetable will enable the Wanganella to be at sea every week-end. The first trip of the new timetable, announced by Mr C. Taylor, the Auckland manager, will be made from Sydney on Thursday, January 16, to Wellington. The Wanganella will make her first voyage from Sydney to Auckland a fortnight later, leaving Sydney on January 30 Fares for the journey are in advance of the pre-war charges. At present the Wanganella is making a special voyage on the Pacific service under the control of the Australian Government. She will arrive at Auckland from Vancouver on Monday, and sail the following morning for Sydney.
