Mr R. Boulter, His Majesty’s senior Tra.de Commissioner in New Zealand, has returned to Wellington from a brief visit to the United Kingdom.— (P.A.) Dr. A. E. Porritt will arrive at Auckland by aeroplane to-day on a two weeks’ visit, according to advice received yesterday.— (P.A.)
Flight Lieutenant R. F. Worsley, A.F.C., R.N.Z.A.F., who is at present serving in Europe with 8.A.0.R., has been promoted to the rank of squadron leader. This advice has been received by his parents, Mr and Mrs A. Worsley, of Christchurch.
Motions of sympathy with the relatives of the late Messrs L. A. Gordon and F. Tuke were passed at a meeting of the Christchurch Bowling Centre last evening. Both were members of bowling clubs in Christchurch.
Mr E. E. Orr, who has been stationmaster at Greymouth for the last year, has received notice of his transfer to Wellington as goods agent. The new stationmaster at Greymouth will be Mr R. M. Millard, acting train running officer of the Railways Department, W ellington.
