JAPANESE WHALING FLEET FOR THE ANTARCTIC.—Two of the four ships which are being prepared in Shimonoseki harbour—a port at the extreme south of the New Zealand Occupation Force's area in Japan—to join the Japanese whaling fleet which will leave for the Antarctic in November. The expedition has been authorised by Allied headquarters in Tokyo. During the war the ships shown carried oil from Borneo to Japan. They are now to be used as refrigeration vessels.
