PERTH TO SEATTLE FLIGHT

UNITED STATES NAVY’S PLANS LONDON, September 18. The United States Navy has announced plans for a 9000-mile non-stop flight from Australia to America. A Lockheed long-range P2V Neptune twin-engined flying-boat will take off late this month from Perth and fly in a great circle to Seattle. The flight is expected to take 44 hours. Vice-Admiral A. W. Radford said that complete latitude had been given the pilot He could continue after reaching the west cos st if he thought best. The flight would be a test of aeroplane endurance and pilot fatigue.
