AUSTRALIAN STRIKES IN 1945
LARGEST NUMBER IN N.S.W. (Rec. 10 p.m.) CANBERRA, Aug. 20. Eighty-nine per cent of Australia's strikes during 1945 occurred in New South Wales, according to the Commonwealth Statistician. Of 945 strikes in Australia in 1945, 845 occurred in New South Wales. The strikes cost 288.759 New South Wales workers £2,241.180 in lost wages, and industry lost 1,792,857 working days.
