LEICESTERSHIRE DRAW WITH INDIANS (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 7 p.m.) LONDON, May 21. The match between the Indian touring team and Leicestershire was drawn. Leicestershire in their first innings scored 144 (Amarnath four for 14). India scored 107 for six wickets declared in their second innings. (Merchant not out 57, Sperry three for 33). Leicestershire scored 24 for one wicket in their second innings. County cricket results were:— Sussex, first innings 224 (Griffith 37, Hollies seven for 77); second innings none for 10. Warwickshire, first innings 237 (Taylor 82, Dempster 40, Shortland 70, Cornford five for 19). The match was drawn, play being stopped because of rain. Northamptonshire, first innings 164; second innings 50 (Jackson five for 26, Howorth four for 19). Worcestershire, first innings 132 (Partridge four for 21); second innings 83 for four wickets. Worcestershire won by six wickets. Middlesex, first innings 209; second innings 175 (Knott, five for 66). Hampshire, first innings 70 (Gray seven for 17); second innings 106 (Gray four for 41, Young four for 19. Middlesex won by an innings and 208 runs. Somerset, first innings 257 (Gimblett 101); second innings 128 (A. V. Bedser four for 30, Watts four for 51, Parker two for 10). Surrey, first innings 359 for nine wickets declared (Fishlock 68, Barling 66, Lawrence three for 79, Wellard three for 109); second innings, none for 28. Surrey won by 10 wickets. Essex, first innings 441 for seven wickets declared (Pearce not out 124); second innings 40 for two wickets. Derbyshire, first innings 128 for three wickets declared (Elliott not out 54); second innings, 352 (Elliott 120, Vigor four for 42). Essex won by eight wickets. Yorkshire, first innings 252 (Hutton 62, Leyland 52). Kent, first innings 69 (Bowes five for 32>; second innings 92 (Beaumont four for 31). Yorkshire won by an innings and 91 runs. Lancashire, first innings 203 (Ikin 74, Matthews six for 67); second innings 150 (Matthews five for 10). Glamorganshire, first innings 190 (Phillipson five for 71); second innings 164 for seven wickets (Lavis not out 59). Glamorganshire won by three wickets.

Nottinghamshire, first innings 132 (Goddard four for 27); second innings 167 (Lambert four for 48). /
