AUSTRALIAN RUGBY TEAM
DATE OF FIRST GAME IN N.Z. (Rec. 10.30 P.m.) SYDNEY, May 7. New South Wales Rugby Union officials Say they will object to the New Zealand proposal that the visiting Australian team should play its first match the day after it arrives in New Zealand. The New South Wales Union, which makes decisions on behalf of Australia, is awaiting written confirmation of the cabled Information proposing that the tour should open at Whangarei on August 21. A New Zealand team will be invited to tour Australia early in the 1947 season.
