BOXING
Amateur team to visit SOUTH AFRICA (P.A.) WELLINGTON. May 7 The council of the New Zealand Boxing Association to-night accepted an invitation from the South African Boxing Association to send a team of amateur boxers to South Africa early next year to coincide with the visit to South Africa of the King and Queen and the Princesses. AUSTRALIAN OFFER TO MURPHY <P.A.) WELLINGTON. May 7. Another offer has been made to Bos Murphy. New Zealand welter-weight boxing champion, to go to Sydney with the ultimate object of being rematched against Vic Patrick.
The latest offer is an behalf of a wealthy private syndicate and virtually conveys that Murphy can name his own figure. As in the case of the offer from Stadiums, Limited, hqwever, Mr P. J. Galvin, Murphy’s manager, said that fuller details were being sought.
