CANTERBURY CHESS CLUB
Last evening members of the Canterbury Chest Club entertained their friends on the occasion of the annual visitors’ evening. A special feature was a simultaneous match between Mr H. R. Abbott, a former New Zealand champion, and present Canterbury champion, and 24 players. Mr Abbott won 18 games, drew three, and lost three. The three winning players were Mr E. Guest, Master G. Falloon, and Sergeant-Major Thompson.
