MR D. G. SAWERS, who will succeed Mr F. D. Good as Comptroller of Customs when the latter retires on May 31. Mr Sawers joined the Customs Department as a cadet in 1910 and is at present chief advisory and investigating officer. He served in the N.Z.E.F. during the Great War in Samoa and afterwards fa Europe.
