SURRENDER OF COUPONS
RESULTS OF FOURTH WEEK
INCREASE IN BUTTER t AND MEAT (P.A.) WELLINGTON. May 7. - x further increase in butter and meat coupons voluntarily surrendered to provide extra food for the people of Britain was recorded in the week ended Monday, which was the fourth of the campaign. Butter coupons for the last week totalled 12.526, compared with 11,364 the previous week. Meat coupons totalled 221,741. compared with 207,172 the previous week. Butter coupons saved during the four weeks ended Monday total 43,174. Meat coupons saved during the same period total 819.021. This represents nine tons of butter end 137 tons of meat. Results for the four weeks of the campaign are:—
