COMMUNAL CLASHES IN NAGPUR
“ UNTOUCHABLES” AND HINDUS NEW DELHI, May 5. Strong police reinforcements were rushed to Nagpur after night-long clashes between caste Hindus and “untouchables.” There was widespread stone-throwing and at least six houses were set on fire. Mill workers this morning were still restive .and police were stationed at possible trouble points. Tension between the two communities has been smouldering since the recent provincial election.
