LANCASTER PARK CONTROL

Sir,—l think it is time something was done to alter the status of the body controlling Lancaster Park. I was surprised to read Mr Blank’s remark that Lancaster Park was really a private ground, though it was saved by public subscription- and thanks to the Commercial Travellers’ Association, to which all the credit is due. I think the Council of Sport shbuld try to get the necessary alterations in the act to have a more democratic board. All international games, Association, Rugby and League football, baseball, cricket, etc., should be allowed the use of Lancaster Park. Our boys who played Rugby, Association, League, cricket, hockey, etc., fought side by side to do away with dictatorship; so why allow it to creep into the control of our sports fields? The same applies to all pur public schools. There is room for hockey, Rugby, and Association football.—Yours, etc., May 6, 1946. J M.K.
