The first century of the season at Lord s was scored by J. Parker for Surrey against M.C.C. His 101 included two sixes. A. R Gover struck his best form when M.C.C. went in. He cleim bowled Wyatt and Gibb, and got Denis Compton caught in the slips—all in feur overs for 2 runs. At stumps the scores were: Gloucestershire 481 for seven wickets, against Oxford University (W. R. Hammond 132, C. J. Barnett 110). • . Lancashire 310 (Washbrook 90) again* Cambridge University, one for 38. Surrey 364 (J. Parker 101. H. Squirea 83) against M.C.C., four for 27.
