CANTERBURY TEAM SELECTED
MATCH AGAINST AUSTRALIANS The Canterbur team to meet the Australians at Lancaster Park next Friday ha been announced by the selectors. Mes- ■ J. L. Kerr and C. G. Crawford. There is only one change in the side from the team which beat Otago in the final Plunket Shield match. K. F. M. Uttley is not available, and he is replaced oy T. M. Sharpe (West Christchurch). Sharpe is a former Canterbury representative. and has also played for the North Island. He is a very capable batsman, and in his three innings in Christchurch this season has made scores of 40, 11, and 112. He is also a very useful slow right-hand bowler, and for this reason 11 give more balance to .the attack, as well as giving the side * - fifth bowler. It would seem, from the large score made bj the Australians on the first day -of tht match against Auckland, that at least five migh'. be required. The team is as follows:—1. B Cromb (captain), W. McD. Anderson, A< E. L. Britton. T. Burtt, L. A. Butterfield, D. A. N. Mcßae, F. P. O’Brien, _R. H. Scott, R. . Shand. T. M. Sharpe, and J. Smith. Th twelfth man is A. Burgess.
