NEW ZEALAND PEACE STAMPS.- The special postage stamps are expected to he placed on sale on April 1. They have been printed in England from designs by Mr J. Berry, of Wellington. The object of the series is to mark the restoration of peace, and to pay tribute to all persons who, whether in the armed forces or in other directions, assisted in the war effort. The subjects of the designs are: ½d stamp, Lake Matheson and the Southern Alps; 1d, Parliament Buildings with inset portrait of the King; 1½d, the dome of St. Paul’s, London, in a V-shaped frame; 2d, the Royal Family; 3d, R.N.Z.A.F. badge and aeroplanes; 4d, Army badge with desert and farm scenes; 5d, Navy badge and ships; 6d, New Zealand coat of arms with industrial scenes; 8d, the stained glass window of Wellington College memorial hall; 9d, Southern Alps from chapel window, Waiho Gorge; Is, national war memorial campanile, Wellington.
