«ONE MYSTERIOUS NIGHT” Columbia Pictures’ "Boston Blackie” series has always been popular and "One Mysterious Night,” the latest picture in the series, should prove no jbx? ception. Chester Morris plays the role of “Boston Blackie,” a reformed criminal, who aids the police and yet is continually at humorous odds with them in the process. “Blackie” and his friend "The Runt” (George E. Stone) track down the theft of a 500,000 dollar diamond and eventually get into trouble with the police, murderers, and thieves. They are arrested, kidnapped, and get into a hotel exclusively for women, but finally the hilarious tangle is straightened out. Jane Carter plays the leading feminine role and others in the cast are William Wright and Robert Williams. The second feature “Hey, Rookie” is a comedy romance starring Ann Miller, Joe Besser, Jimmy Little, and Hal McIntyre.
