New Ownership Royal Rae has been sold by Mr G. Humphries to Mr E. N. Fitzgerald, of Gisborne. Royal Rae has paid his way. but his activities have been restricted by lameness which periodically came against him. His new owner intends to try him as a hurdler.

Leading Horsemen N. Holland had six mounts at Gisborne on Saturday for two wins and four second placings. W. Broughton also rode two winners at Otaki. Broughton’s total for the season is now 29, and that of Holland 28.

Washdyke Successes Plutocrat, a winner at Kumara. was formerly raced by Mr A. N. Smith, of Dun--2 din. Plutocrat is now the property of Messrs A. Sime, of Dunedin, and T. Clouston. of Central Otago, and is trained at Washdyke by F Trilford, who also won s race with Night Lancer, owned by Mr J. Simmons, owner of As Required. Lost Art, the third member of Trilford’s team, was narrowly beaten in his race by Sir Tague, which is now trained at Omoto oy his owner. Mr A. Beban. Another Wasndyke trainer, W. P. At Gore , Good Cast, one of the outsiders of the field for the Gore Racing Club Handicap, put up a meritorious performance by winning from end to end, says the “Southland Times.” Royal Chance, Good Cast, and Royal Lancer were the first to snow out, and racing out of the straight Good Cast had taken up the running from Royai Chance, Royal Lancer, Te Anau Lady, ana Doubleack, with Silver Mask at the rear Good Cast was clear of Royal Chance, with Royal Lancer and Te Anau LabY together, racing down the back, where Lord Dundcmald brought up the rear and 1 Doubleack was pulled up. Good Cast iea Royal Chance. Te Anau Lady, Royal Lancer. and Pride of Mossburn round the home turn, where Silver Mask was five lengths further back and Lord Dundonala beaten off. Good Cast was still clear at the straight entrance, and in the run home he always had Royal Chance’s measure Royal Lancer was a length back, with Te Anau Lady ahead of Pride of Mossburn. This was Good Cast’s fifth win this season for his present owner. Mr A.
