ACTION AGAINST FRANCO
BRITAIN WELCOMES FRENCH PLAN
GOVERNMENT STATEMENT LONDON, February 11. The British Government had replied welcoming the French Government’s proposal that Britain should join in diplomatic action to bfing an end to the Franco regime in Spain, said the Parliamentary Secretary to the Foreign Office (Mr Hector McNeil), in the House of Commons. The Government had agreed that any action taken should be concerted between the French, British, and American Governments. They were in close touch with the subject through the normal diplomatic channels. Mr McNeil added that it was by his authority that the Pretender to the Spanish throne. (Don Juan) passed through "Sritain on his way to Lisbon. The President of the Spanish Republican Government in exile (Senor Jose Giral) said to-day in Paris that his Government was widening its scope to include representatives of the Communist and Socialist Parties. The Spanish Republican Government would continue to make Paris its headquarters. The French Government has granted an entry visa to Senor Diego Barrio, Acting-President of the Spanish Republican Government in exile.
