, ♦ SUCCESSFUL MEETING After being in recess for four years, the Dunsandel Sports Association held a successful meeting on New Year’s Day. The gate takings were the second best since 1932. Entries in most sections were good, the cycling events being keenly contested. Dunsandel has always been noted for its fast cycle track, and it was well up to expectations again this year. A competition, guessing the weight of a cake, was won by Mrs R. G. McLean and Misses P. Lilley and Helen Doyle (equal). The weight was 61b. A dance held in the hall in the evening attracted a large crowd. Competitions were won by Mrs Wilkinson (Linwood) and Mrs S. G. Scott (Dunsandel). The duties of master of ceremonies were shared by Messrs G. W. Frampton and J. L. Walker.
