NEW USES FOUND FOR PENICILLIN
RELIEF FOR CHRONIC BRONCHITIS LONDON, January 6. The inhalation of penicillin by sufferers from chronic bronchitis was among several new uses for the drug, said Dr. Charles H. Smith of the St. Mary’s Hospital penicillin unit, when addressing women health officers. Sprayed on a sore throat penicillin would cure the infection within 24 hours, he said. Penicillin had no'curative value for the common cold, but it would stop a thick running nose.
