Meat - and Dairy Produce Export Company, Ltd., have issued the sixtyfourth annual balance-sheet and profit and loss statement for the year ended November 30 last. The annual meeting of shareholders will be held on Friday December 14.

The net profit for the year, after making provision for depreciation, is £30,080 19s 2d, which, with the amount brought forward from last year, makes the amount at credit of profit and loss account, £53.588 17s Id Out ol this. £15,000 has. been added to the renewals and replacements fund, and after such appropriation there remains a sum of £38,583 17s Id, which the directors propose should be dealt with as follows:

POTATO AND ONION PRICES NEW ORDER GAZETTED Changes in potato growers' prices and in retail prices for new potatoes are notified in a price, order recently gazetted. The price order is for December, January, and February. For the North Island and the Nelson district the only changes are that the growers' price for' the first half of December is £l6 a ton instead of £l4. North Island retail prices are unchanged. I For the rest of the South Island the December prices are the same as formerly. Thereafter growers' prices (with retail prices in parenthesis) are:—January. 1 to 15. £3O a ton (5d per lb); January 16 to 31, £25 a ton (4Jd per lb); FebrtiI ary 1 to 14, £2O a ton (4d per lb);February 15 to 28, £ls a ton (3d per lb). Onions The price order covering growers' and retailers' prices for onions is comprehensive. Previous price orders for onions have defined the .monthly' price up to November, 1945. The new order continues the prices up to December, 1946. Except for December and January, when there are reductions in the prices, the retail prices of fair average quality onions are the same as before. Last year no growers' prices were specified for December, the only control being retail prices. This year growers' prices for December are specified in the order. There is a slight change in the growers' price for January, But the remaining monthly prices are the same. The price order defines the price of old season onions (those planted before April, 1945) sold during December, 1945. The maximum retail prices for onions during December, 1945, and January and February, 1946', are as follows:—December 1 to 15 (inclusive): 'fair average quality, per lb, sd; ungraded per lb.. sd: December 16 to 31 (inclusive), 4Jd, 4Jd; January, 1946, 3Jd, 3Jd; February, 1946, 3d, 2Jd. Pickler grade onions are 3Jd per lb for the period.
