WOMEN'S DIVISION OF FARMERS' UNION
Redcllffs.—"That the radio does more harm than good in the average home," was the subject of a debate held at the November meeting of the Redcliffs branch of the Women's Division of the Farmers' Union. Those taking part were Mesdames Barker and Newport (negative), Mesdames Hlndle and Carter (affirmative). The judges, Mrs McCracken and Miss Killner. awarded most points to Mesdames Barker and Newport. It, was decided to buy 10s iworth of health stamps and to inquire if arrangements could be made for the branch to visit "Glenelg," the children's permanent health camp on Murray-Aynsley Hill.. It was reported that a substantial sum had been raised at an evening social recently held in aid of funds. An amusing competition was won by. Miss Foster, and other competition results were as follows:—prettiest apron: Miss Gates 1, Mrs Ebert 2, Mrs Hindle 3. Vase of sweet peas: Miss Andrews 1. Best lettuce: Mrs Newport 1, Mrs Hindle 2.
