Sir,—l think it is high time that 3YA radio station was criticised for the atrocious programmes it puts over the air. First, I have nothing against the announcers, Both the national and commercial announcers compare with any in the world. Some few vears bewar just completed the National Broadcasting Service sent a questionnaire to all radio licenceholders, asking their choice of musical entertainment. I believe the result was an overwhelming vote in favour of popular, music. This is a fact the National Service seems to have overIcoked, especially 3YA, which takes a delight in cramming over 75 per cent, of its programme with this horrible screech and crash known as classical music and if it is not this it is the screech and crash’s first cousin—that hideous noise called “swing."—Yours, etc.,
