Arab League Calls For Boycott

JEWISH MEASURES PROPOSED

(Rec. 10.30 p.m.) CAIRO, Dec. 3. The council of the Arab League has passed a resolution calling for action “against the Zionist economic danger” and urging every Arab country from January 1 to boycott all goods manufactured in Palestine. The resolution described commodities of Palestine origin as undesirable and their continued importation into Arab countries as an aid to Zionist aims. It also called on neighbouring countries not belonging to the Arab League to join the boycott. The secretary-general of the Arab League (Abdul Azzam Bey) said the boycott was not directed against Jews as a people but against the Zionist measures, and would be lifted as soon as Jewish immigration was stopped. Questioned about the fate of 70,000 Arabs working in Jewish industries in Palestine, Azzam Bey said he believed the Zionists would be glad to see them expelled from Palestine.

‘.‘One hundred and forty Palestinians charged with, curfew breaking have been released from custody," says Reuter t Jerusalem correspondent. “They have been imprisoned since November 26 for breaking the curfew regulations in the Namaraia area, in which is the Jewish settlement which was the scene of recent disorders."

Six members of the 6th Airborne Division have been selected to be killed as a reprisal for six Jews killed in last week’s disturbances, according to a note received by Major-General E. Bols. commanding the division. The threat is believed to have been sent by Jewish terrorists. Brigade commanders have been advised to warn their troops to be on the alert. A warning that any further disorders in Tripolitania would be firmly dealt witi. has been issued by the Com-mander-in-Chief in the Mediterranean (General Sir Barnard Paget). The warning applies to -those inciting as well as causing disturbances. AntiJewish rioting in the first week of November resulted in more than 100 deaths.
