DREDGING Prom May 31 to June 28 the suction dredge Canterbury was engaged in the outer channel and turning basin, from where 106,470 tons of spoil were removed; An additional quantity of 4450 tons was dredged from the open parts of the inner harbour, making a total of 111,020 tons, reported the resident engineer (Mr A. J. Charman) to yesterday’s meeting of the Harbour Board. ■ The grab dredge Te Whaka was engaged in dredging the berths at No. 2 Jetty West, No. 3 Jetty East. No. 3 Jetty West, No. 6 Jetty West, No. 7 Jetty West, and the oil wharf. The total amount of spoil removed was 1680 tons.
