AWARD OF DISTINGUISHED SERVICE, MEDAL
(P.A.) WELLING?ON, June 1. In a recent ceremony at the advanced headquarters of the Com-mander-ih-Chief of the Pacific Fleet, Admiral Chester W. Nihiitz presented the Distinguished Service Medal to Vice-Admiral W. L, Calhoun, Commander of the South Pacific Area and Force. The award Was made to Admiral Calhoun for' distinguishing himself as Commander of a base'force in the service area during the period from December, 1936, to 1945.
