WOMEN’S WOOLLEN UNDERCLOTHING

Sir—l thoroughly endorse what “Frozen” has to say regarding the utter dearth of warm underclothing for women, especially in the larger sizes. I have suffered from rheumatism for the last few years and it suddenly took a severe turn for the worse at the end of last winter, seriously limiting my activities, after I had spent months tramping from shop to shop in the vain endeavour to secure warm bloomers, or even summer ones, and had shivered through the coldest months of the winter. If plenty of warm underclothing is available for the men, as “Frozen” suggests, then this situation is scandalous.—Yours, etc., N.W. May 14, 1945.
