ARGENTINA
Sir,—Mr Eden said in the House of Commons that he did not like the Polish Committee because it was “undemocratic.” One must suppose he does like the Fascist dictatorship of Argentina, as he ardently supported America’s sponsorship of Argentinian admittance, thereby doing a disservice to democracy and to all interests except those of big business, the machinations of which, and its cartel colleagues, the I. G. Farbens and Krupps of Germany, which This wfcr, we were told, would bring to an end. The “democratic’’ Government of Belgium installed with the aid of Allied bayonets, and the Greek Government until recently, headed by the how discredited , defeatist Plastiras no doubt Mr Eden also “likes." Mr Fraser, evidently rhore courageous than other Empire statesmen, spoke truly when he compared dictatorship in Argentina, where those celebrating the Axis defeat were broken up by police last week, with that of the modern Torquemada Franco.—YourS, etc., J. DENNEHY. Haast, May 12, 1945. '
