TECHNOLOGY AND WAR
Sir,—Athens and Sparta had their first, second, and third Peloponnesian wars. History in repetition, like a story often told, becomes tedious. In my opinion, the second world wawcan only lead to the third, unless the strength of forces is realised, which have their roots in earth conditions and natural resources. I suggest Russia’s realistic economic demands must be given heed to in tile new technology. I further submit that the San Francisco Cqnference must, in order to preserve peace, remove the tinder of an economic system disintegrating under the blows of a changing technology. Twice war has been possible and it may be again.— Yours, etc., THE TECHNOLOGICAL AGE. April 7, 1945;
