PRISON CAMPS IN GERMANY
-—♦— — REPORTS OF RED CROSS VISITORS (PA) WELLINGTON, October 28. Reports on visits by International Red* Cross delegates to two camps, received by the Prisoner of War Inquiry Office, state that Oflag XIII B was visited early in August, and Stalag IX C at the end of the same month. * There were four doctors and one chaplain in the first camp, and hying conditions- were described as excellent Most of the officers had single rooms or one shared between two There were no complaints about food. Games were played, and theatrical shows were held, and there was an orchestra and a choir There was a possibility of a reserve of 5000 food parcels being built up Good air-raid shelters were provided. Conditions at the other camp were described as satisfactory, and, since a previous visit, there had been additions to camp furniture, and prisoners had the use of a small sports ground. The food parcel reserve was sufficient for two months. The inquiry office is anxious that next-of-kin should send it copies of any recent letters from prisoners in German camps.
