RESTRICTION OF ACTIVITIES
SPANISH REPUBLICANS IN FRANCE ACTION BY DE GAULLE GOVERNMENT . LONDON. Oct. 27. General de Gaulle’s Government Is restricting the activities of Spanish Republican guerrillas on the FrenchSpanish border, thus clearing the way for diplomatic relations with the Franco Government. The Paris correspondent of the Associated Press says that this is revealed by Qua! d’Orsay officials. Republicans who seized 10 Spanish consulates in the south of France are being ousted and the consulates held by French officials for eventual return to Spanish officials. Spanish Republicans in France will be given political refugee status and accorded sanctuary similar to Tsarist Russians and German Jews. The Lerida correspondent of the Associated Press says that Spanish Army forces operating against Spanish Maquis who crossed the FrenchSpanish frontier announced that they took 480 prisoners yesterday north of Viella.
