ATTACKS BY FLYING BOMBS

♦ MANY LONDON HOUSES DESTROYED (8.0. W.) RUGBY. Oct. 27. The Minister of Health (Mr H. V. Willink), in the House of Commons, gave an indication of the damage suffered by London during the flyingbomb raids. Mr Willink said that up to September 12 24,000 houses had been destroyed or damaged beyond repair and there had been 1,100,000 incidents of damage. The total loss of houses was now 109.000 in the London region, and on September 22 thev estimated that there were 800.000 houses in need of repair to make them reasenab’y comfortrb’e. Ko estimated that there was between £30.000.000 and £35,000,000 worth of work to be done.
