PETROL FOR PLEASURE CRAFT
* —. ALLOWANCES REDUCED Petrol allowances for pleasure craft are to be reduced this summer. This information was given on Saturday by the Hon. A. H. Nordmeyer, on behalf of the Minister of Supply (the Hon. D. G. Sullivan). Mr Nordmeyer said greater calls on petrol supplies had made it impossible for the War Cabinet to make the same allowances as were made last year. He said that monthly allocations from November to April would be as follows; up to 25ft waterline length 2 gallons; 25ft to 30ft. 4 gallons; 30ft to 35ft, 6 gallons: 35ft to 40ft,* 8 gallons; over 40ft, 10 gallons; sailing yachts with auxiliary engines and boats using outboard motors, up to and including 5 h.p., 1 gallon; over 5 h.p., 2 gallons.
