. ♦ DECREES NISI GRANTED Divorce suits were dealt with by Mr ; Justice Northcroft in the Supreme Court yesterday. 1 A decree nisi to be made absolute In three months was granted to Pauline 1 Mary Massetti, who had secured an order from the Supreme Court in Dunedin for restitution of conjugal rights by> her hus- ! band, Frank Noel Massetti, hotelkeeper, ; of Dunedin. The respondent, according to the petitioner, had failed to return to her 1 as directed. Mr W. R. Lasceiles appeared 1 for the petitioner, and Mr E. S. Bowie : for the respondent. Mr Lasceiles for Edward Borlck, a labourer (a naturalised Jugoslav), asked : that the petition of his wife, Thyrza Frances Borick, on the ground of desertion, should be struck out. and a decree | nisi be awarded to the respondent (Bor- ■ ick). After hearing the latter’s evidence : the Court agreed to that course. ' When Mr Justice Northcroft was In- ; formed during the hearing of an unde- ; fended divorce suit on the ground of ‘ adultery, that the 13-year-old child of the , petitioner was living with the wife and the man who had been cited as co-respon- • dent, his Honour said the Court was most concerned. Eventually, he granted the interim custody of the son to the peti- , tioner, Charles Henry Peagram, a sol- ' dier. The respondent was Amy Grace Peagram, and the co-respondent was Thomas Martin, labourer, of Christchurch. After a conference between Mr D. W, • Russell (for the petitioner) and Mr R. A. , Young (for the respondent), the Court ~ was informed that the father would : make arrangements for his son to live ' with him in future. Reasonable access i would be accorded to his mother. A decree nisi, returnable in three months, was granted to the petitioner.
