DECORATIONS FOR AIRMEN
SIX AWARDS ANNOUNCED (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 19. The award of four Distinguished Flying Crosses, one Bar to the D.F.C., and one Conspicuous Gallantry Medal was announced to-day. The recipients are:— D.F.C. Hall. Flight Lieutenant Peter Francis Locker, of Gisborne. Parldto,' Flying Officer Sidney Frederick, of Foxton. Ede, Pilot Officer Raymond Benjamin. Father. Mr E. M. Ede, Ashburton. Nicklin, Pilot Officer Alfred Edgar, of Auckland. Bar to D.F.C, Hammond. Squadron Leader Derek Harold. Father. Mr E. Hammond, Christchurch. C. Moriarty, Flight Sergeant David John, of Wanganui. PACIFIC SERVICE TWO OFFICERS AWARDED D. (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 19. The Governor-General has announced that the King has approved the award of the Distinguished Flying Cross to two members of the R.N.Z.A.F. in recognition of gallantry and devotion to duty during operations against the enemy in the south Pacific area. The recipients are:— Squadron Leader Stanley Gilbert Quill. Mother, Mrs V. Quill, Invercargill. Flying Officer Rex Alexander Weber. Wife. Mrs J. Weber, Auckland.
